In this light read, retired flight attendant Dawn O'Harra brings us inside the airline industry during a key era: 1980s deregulation. O'Harra introduces us to May, a young woman yearning for her pilot's license, hoping to land a job as a flight attendant with one of the major airlines. We accompany May through training and into the sky for her first five years working with a smaller airline and we experience the travel, the antics, the stress and the heartache that comes with life in the travel industry.
Written by an insider, this story captures what happened behind-the-scenes for the flight team.
