The epic poem of Beowulf, a tale of heroes and monsters, remains etched on the cultural imagination. This celebrated modern English verse translation refreshes the Anglo-Saxon epic for a new generation. It retains the verbal resonance of the original text by transferring its rhythm and alliteration, reproducing the sound effect of the original poem in easy-to-read modern English.
