"It has been a long time since I've read a collection of stories composed of such pure, simple, unadorned horror and eeriness. There is not a speck of guile herein, no frill, no cliches, no parlor tricks, no fakery. Keith Owens' stories are long, gray, cobwebbed hallways that walk us straight into phantasms, nightmares, broken realities, and the appalling misfortunes that suffuse all of our hopes and desires. Keep your lights on, check over your shoulder, take out the ear buds and give one more good listen to the still night. Mr. Owens ain't playing."
