I thought the biggest threat to my vampire relationship was the past coming back to haunt us, but I was dead wrong.
Becoming a vampire shouldn't have been possible with blood-madness running rampant and infecting the newly turned, but somehow, I was immune. Not only did I avoid the illness, but I didn't crave human blood . . . which was a problem.
No one could know about my peculiarities, but despite the danger my presence posed, my vampires vowed to protect me, even if the empire they'd built crumbled at their feet.
