This book explains that people are physical creatures (they have a body), psychological creatures (they have the mind, emotions, and a will), purposeful creatures (they were designed to have a purpose), social creatures (they can have relationships with people), and spiritual creatures (they have the possibility of a relationship with God). Cocoris then elaborates on how to reach the optimum in each of these five areas from a scientific and spiritual perspective.
