Author Biography
Cathryn Michon has an eclectic career as a filmmaker, actor, comic, nationally bestselling author, animal advocate and TV host. Directing and writing feature films is her life's joy. Because she was the only woman screenwriter in America who had two feature films in world release in 2019 (A Dog's Way Home and A Dog's Journey, sequel to A Dog's Purpose) all told from a dog's point of view, she began to dream of writing a free verse narrative book she could give friends who had lost a dog, to encourage them to open their hearts to another, as she had. The impact this book had for those who had lost a dog, or a person, who had gone too soon, inspired her to share the unique perspective of cats - who, for everyone who knows and loves them, have their own magnificent (and they might claim superior) understanding of the world and what is beyond it to comfort those who miss them.
Her dog Tucker, featured in Seth's illustrations, was adopted after she lost her only dog Ellie, and Tucker is both her muse and best friend. Michelle Detering is a contemporary watercolor artist from Lansing, Michigan. Her artwork is a reflection of her love of nature, animals and color. Her work emphasizes fluidity, and demonstrates a balance between looseness and control. She embraces the spontaneous nature of watercolor and loves to showcase the unique qualities of the medium. Her goal is to capture the spirit and essence of her subjects using minimal strokes and flowing washes. Michelle's award-winning work is collected by nature enthusiasts worldwide. It is her hope that through her art others can feel a connection to the beauty of the natural world.Share
