Fifteen-year-old Max knows all about heartache. His alcoholic father and mentally ill mother chase him from his family home. He finds himself at the doorstep of a family that has no parents, no rules, and the freedom to do whatever they want. Most importantly, they welcome him in with loving arms. Is it a dream come true . . . or is it a nightmare from which he cannot awake. Will Max find what he's looking for-or will he die trying?
