Our Marino candle is a new fragrance launching in 2025 added to our The Essential Waters Scent Collection. Presented here in a limited edition dark navy color, it is a new companion to our flagship fragrance Atlántico.

Marino is inspired in the shore pastures of Patagonia that abruptly become cliffs when meeting the rough waves of the Atlantic Ocean.

Part private and part national parks, these pastures are almost barren of trees, but contain a significant ecosystem of bushes, herbs and grasses that are vital to soil maintenance, and therefore are protected from erosion; along several hundred kilometers down the shores they are only accessible by guided horseback riding tours of four to six people at a time.

Marino is an amber chypre fragrance representing the juxtaposition of leather hides, the scent of the ocean and seashells, and the fresh perfume of seasonal grasses.

But Marino is unusual in that it includes genet absolute, also called broom. A flowering bush that's somehow tied to the origin of the name Plantagenet. The absolute distilled from its flowers is honeyed, fruity and leathery at the same time. It is seldom used in perfumery due to its high cost, but it is the specific accord that makes Marino a unique candle in luxury home fragrance. Marino also contains refined materials like Ambroxan, an elegant ambergris molecule, and calamus essential oil, which when paired, contribute to the specific notion of the smells of the ocean and riding an old saddle.

You can learn more about broom here, and about chypre fragrances in our page dedicated to perfumery classification and notes.

Marino is classed as an amber chypre fragrance with marine nuances. Its intense, marine navy coloration is achieved with mineral dyes, and it produces a beautiful and mysterious ink color when the wax pool is completely melted, reminiscent of the dark blue indomitable waves of the Southern Atlantic Ocean.
