"Katie Chaple is a poet of passionate detail. The poems in Pretty Little Rooms display a writer wholly engaged with the world and its characters, objects, and creatures. Charlie Chaplin and Mme Du Barry, skulls and swimming pools, gods and spiders-all find their place, all are considered. I find it so refreshing to hear the original voice that propels these sly and beautifully crafted poems with their mordant wit, self and outward knowledge, and dare I say lust for the nouns of existence. A wonderful debut collection!" - Stuart Dischell, author of Backwards Days
