Planting Instructions
In a well-prepared bed, plant the rhizome in the ground, just below the soil surface, with the bud pointed upright. Space rhizome pieces 6 inches apart, with rows spaced 6 to 12 inches apart. Add a thick layer of mulch, using hardwood leaves or shredded hardwood bark, and rake back to a depth of 1 to 2 inches before the plants emerge in spring.
