Six turtles. Sei tartarughe imperiale. All named after Roman emperors: Cesare, Adriano, Augusto, Constantino, Nerone, and little Claudio. They were a part of my brand-new Roman life. A time of exhilaration.
The stories are of a Mississippi childhood, adventures in Africa, Rome, Geneva, Paris, New York and Beverly Hills. Years of taking chances and making mistakes, of meeting colorful characters, of embracing the unknown.
