When two American soldiers are taken hostage in Afghanistan, a covert rescue mission unfolds-unofficial, unsanctioned, and unstoppable.
National Guard Captain Jonathan Marker Jr. and Specialist Brenda Jean Cash are swept into a deadly game orchestrated by Afghan warlord Habib Zalman-who seeks an ancient, mythic metal hidden deep in the Hindu Kush. Their escape sparks an international incident, forcing a ragged team of retired contractors, Nepali Gurkhas, and hardened veterans of the war in Afghanistan to defy orders, chase ghosts, and outwit a brutal enemy to bring them home.
Set against the stark realities of modern warfare and the haunted past of ancient empires, The Khorasan Contract is a gripping military thriller-equal parts treasure hunt, rescue drama, and geopolitical chess match.
