Author Biography

HANS CHRISTIAN ANDERSEN (1805-1875) was a prolific Danish author of plays, poems, travelogues, and novels, but is best remembered for his fairy tales. Some of his most famous fairy tales include The Little Mermaid, The Emperor's New Clothes, The Snow Queen, and The Ugly Duckling. His stories have inspired animated and live-action films, ballets, and plays.
