1929 marked the first appearance of Edgar Rice Burroughs' Tarzan in the newspaper comic strips. These adapted adventures, illustrated initially by Hal Foster, enthralled generations of readers with the adventures of the jungle lord. This volume collects the first year of this strip in a larger-than-life expanded format, taking the audience from Tarzan's youth through his first meeting with Jane Porter.
